Chuck Lamb & Diego Figueiredo

Instrumental Jazz

Join us for another extraordinary evening of jazz as Caffè Lena’s monthly series returns with resident host and pianist Chuck Lamb at the helm. A cornerstone of Lena’s jazz programming, Lamb brings fresh energy, deep musicality, and an open-hearted spirit to every performance.

Joining Chuck Lamb for this special duo performance is GRAMMY-nominated Brazilian guitarist Diego Figueiredo, a dazzling player whose music brings together jazz, bossa nova, classical technique and the rich musical traditions of his native Brazil. Figueiredo has performed in more than 60 countries, earned honors at the Montreux Jazz Festival, and shared stages with an extraordinary roster of musicians including Gilberto Gil, Stanley Jordan, Larry Coryell, Cyrille Aimée, Jeff Hamilton, Terell Stafford and Wycliffe Gordon. George Benson has called him “one of the greatest guitarists I’ve seen in my whole life.”

What makes Figueiredo so exciting, though, isn’t simply his virtuosity. His playing combines remarkable technique and imagination with warmth, swing and an unmistakable sense of joy and it is infectious! You'll have a joyful feeling that will leave you amazed and happy! He’s an extraordinary star among the world’s greatest jazz guitarists and his superb technique, timing and imagination have made him one of the hottest international names right now.

Chuck Lamb, pianist with the renowned Brubeck Brothers Quartet since 2002, is celebrated for his passionate, expressive style and dynamic range. A prolific composer whose work spans jazz, fusion, classical, and world music, Lamb moves effortlessly from lyrical elegance to explosive improvisation. Chuck just released his album After Hours on Phila Street, featuring Chuck’s original acoustic jazz fusion compositions, inspired by some of his most personal relationships and joyful moments.

Founded with the vision and support of the late GRAMMY® and Oscar-winning producer Joel Moss, Jazz at Caffè Lena has grown into a regional destination for adventurous, forward-thinking jazz.

In the intimacy of Caffè Lena, pairing that expressive guitar with Chuck Lamb’s equally adventurous piano creates the possibility for the kind of spontaneous musical conversation that jazz is all about: two master musicians listening, responding and seeing where the music takes them. It’s  the kind of spontaneous interplay that reminds us why live jazz matters. Whether you’re steeped in the tradition or just beginning your jazz journey, this is music meant to be experienced up close.
