Bethany Yarrow: A Tribute to Peter Yarrow, with Gordon Titcomb

Folk

Singer-songwriter Bethany Yarrow carries forward one of folk music's most powerful traditions: songs that bring people together in pursuit of justice, community, and hope.

The daughter of Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary, Bethany grew up singing the freedom songs of the civil rights movement at marches and rallies around the world. Rooted in gospel traditions and collective action, these songs helped sustain generations of people working toward a more just and compassionate world. Today, Bethany continues that legacy, exploring how music can inspire connection, courage, and positive change in challenging times.

"Music and activism have always gone hand in hand in my life. I grew up singing at rallies, surrounded by creative iconoclasts and activists who believed that helping to create a more peaceful and just world was an essential part of being human. I miss my dad more than I have words to express, but I hear his voice constantly whispering, "SING! Just keep on singing!" And so we will…. Now, more than ever, we need music to bring us together. It is my great joy to continue singing these songs of love and freedom. Especially in this time when our hearts are breaking, let the love spill out and fill the streets with song." – Bethany Yarrow

Joined by acclaimed multi-instrumentalist Gordon Titcomb, Bethany presents an evening of songs and stories honoring her father, the folk tradition that shaped her life, and the enduring power of music to unite people across generations and movements. Expect beloved classics, original songs, and reflections on the role music has played in struggles for civil rights, environmental stewardship, and human dignity.

SONGS OF LOVE & FREEDOM

The one song that will never end is the song of a human soul longing to be free.
