Born into a musical family in rural New England, Foehl began his career busking on the streets of Boston before finding a national audience as a singer-songwriter whose work is rooted in honesty, quiet observation, and the landscapes of American life. His songs unfold like well-worn postcards from the long way home, exploring love, loss, resilience, and the people we become along the way.
Drawing from the traditions of American folk, Foehl combines a warm, weathered voice with thoughtful melodies and lyrics that reveal new details with every listen. His performances are understated and deeply personal, allowing the songs themselves to take center stage.
Over the course of more than a dozen recordings, Foehl has built a devoted following, with his music appearing in film and television and his songs recorded by artists including Grammy-winning country singer Lee Ann Womack. His upcoming solo album, recorded in Woodstock, New York, features collaborations with Gregory Alan Isakov, Anna Tivel, Jeffrey Martin, Rich Hinman, and Jeb Bows.
Now based in Vermont's Green Mountains, Foehl continues to tour internationally, bringing audiences songs that are intimate, beautifully crafted, and grounded in the traditions of American songwriting.
