Peter Mulvey
Folk Singer Songwriter

Peter Mulvey has spent more than three decades carving out a singular place in the American folk landscape—as a songwriter, storyteller, and tireless traveler whose work brims with curiosity and heart. What began in 1989 with a year of busking on the streets of Dublin and hitchhiking to whatever gig he could find has grown into a remarkable career spanning 20 albums, thousands of performances, and collaborations with some of folk’s most respected voices.

From his early days in Midwest bars and Boston coffeehouses to national stages opening for Ani DiFranco, Emmylou Harris, Greg Brown, and Chuck Prophet, Mulvey has always followed his instinct for the eclectic and the essential. Along the way, he has given a TEDx talk, published an illustrated book, and become a beloved fixture at festivals, on NPR, and at the National Youth Science Camp, where he’s shared music with generations of young minds.

Mulvey’s annual autumn bicycle tour epitomizes his creative spirit—merging music, community, and sustainability—while his long-running Lamplighter Sessions bring together artists in Boston and Wisconsin for nights of collaboration and discovery. With each new project, he deepens his reputation as a songwriter of rare insight and a performer who connects instantly with audiences.
