Join us for an extraordinary evening of jazz as Caffè Lena’s monthly jazz series, hosted by pianist Chuck Lamb, welcomes GRAMMY® Award-winning trumpeter and composer Mike Rodriguez to the stage.
The JAZZ at Caffè Lena series is hosted by resident composer, pianist, and jazz master Chuck Lamb, with support from music producer Joel Moss. Each month, Lamb invites a top-flight jazz artist to join his trio on stage. Lamb, a member of the Brubeck Brothers Quartet since 2002, is not only an exciting and emotive pianist but also a prolific composer of jazz, fusion, classical, and world music. Through these collaborations, the artists stretch their creative boundaries, exploring new musical landscapes and creating spontaneous, exhilarating performances.
Hailed as one of the most dynamic voices in modern jazz, Mike Rodriguez has performed with legends across the spectrum—Clark Terry, Wynton Marsalis, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Quincy Jones, and Charlie Haden, just to name a few. A member of the renowned SFJAZZ Collective, Mike blends technical brilliance with emotional depth, bringing a singular voice to every ensemble he joins.
From the GRAMMY®-winning “Antidote” with Chick Corea’s Spanish Heart Band to his powerful collaborations with his brother, pianist Robert Rodriguez, Mike’s musical path is as expansive as it is inspiring. His performance at Caffè Lena promises lyrical improvisation, thrilling interplay, and a night of jazz that bridges tradition and innovation.
Anchored by Chuck Lamb’s inventive piano work, this trio performance featuring Mike Rodriguez on trumpet is not to be missed. This will be an evening that captures the joy, soul, and spontaneity of live jazz at its finest.
