Greetings – A couple folks sent me a link to an article last week called “Why Do You Like the Music You Like – Science Weighs In.”  The research identifies three characteristics of music: arousal (how “intense” it is), valence (whether is has a negative or positive vibe), and depth (how emotionally complex it is). There’s even a quiz so you can identify your musical personality. (Who can resist one of those?) So, based on this research, I’m going to make a few recommendations:
  • If you were in your teens in the ’60s, come see Bettye LaVette.
  • If you’re an extrovert, come see Hot Club of Cowtown.
  • If you like well organized systems, come see Diego and Chuck.
  • If you’re an empathizer, come see Michael Jerling.

And if you don’t want to overthink this, and you just want to feel energized and reconnected with the good in the world, come any darn night of the week!

See you at the show,
Sarah
