4th Annual TrueSongs returns to Caffè Lena November 11. Meet 5 people whose lives were made better by local nonprofits, and hear the songs their stories inspired.

These courageous storytellers have been paired with five local songwriters. Each team will take the stage together to help us understand the real life challenges faced by our neighbors. We’ll see how one person’s story can come alive with an artistic presentation that breaks through stereotypes and boundaries.

This year’s Lyrics of Life includes the following story lines: a family farm in a developing community is preserved for agriculture; a veteran gets the support she needs to regain her health and get off the streets; a man loses his sight but gains a new outlet for his lifelong habit of helping others; a man is raised on a Schuylerville farm, and finds a way to preserve the history of a changing community; a young girl transcends Autism barriers with the help of horses.

This year’s participating organizations are Saratoga PLAN, Veterans & Community Housing Coalition, Glens Falls Association for the Blind, Hudson Crossing Park and Saratoga Therapeutic Equestrian Program . Our songwriters will be Peggy Lynn, Cassandra Kubinski, Holly McGarry, Sean Rowe, Joel Moss & Dave Maswick.

Can’t attend in person? This show will be streamed for free on Youtube.com/caffelena. Donations appreciated.
