DESCRIPTION:Folk Global Singer Songwriter		\n\n		\n			Share:\n			\n								\n				\n					\n				\n\n				\n				\n					\n				\n\n				\n				\n					\n				\n\n				\n				\n					\n				\n			\n		\n\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	As part of Saratoga Peace Week\, Caffè Lena is honored to host Crystal Bowersox\, the soulful singer-songwriter whose powerful blend of folk\, rock\, and Americana has inspired audiences worldwide. Drawing on the influence of icons like Janis Joplin\, Tracy Chapman\, and Bonnie Raitt\, Bowersox delivers music with passion\, grit\, and healing energy. From her early days performing on Chicago’s subway platforms to her rise to national attention on American Idol\, Crystal has always used music as a form of catharsis and a way to uplift others. She has also used her talents to champion causes close to her heart\, becoming an inspiration for people living with Type 1 Diabetes. Domestic violence is an issue that has touched Crystal’s own life\, and she has spoken about it throughout her career\, lending her voice to raise awareness and hope. In the spirit of Peace Week\, the evening will also shine a spotlight on Wellspring\, Saratoga County’s domestic violence and sexual assault resource center. Instead of a traditional intermission\, Crystal will be joined in conversation by Maggie Fronk\, CEO of Wellspring\, for a 20-minute dialogue about their vital work and how we can all support survivors and safer communities. Donations for Wellspring will be gratefully accepted during the event.  For more than 40 years\, Wellspring has provided free and confidential services to survivors across Saratoga and Washington Counties\, answering more than 1\,700 hotline calls each year. Their mission—and Crystal’s music—remind us that peace begins at home\, in our community\, and in our hearts. Now in its 14th year\, Saratoga Peace Week commemorates the UN’s International Day of Peace with a week of events organized by the Presbyterian-New England Congregational Church in partnership with Caffè Lena\, the Saratoga Springs Public Library\, C.R.E.A.T.E. Community Studios\, The Children’s Museum\, and the Saratoga Immigration Coalition. Join us for an evening of song\, storytelling\, and solidarity in support of peace and survivors.
