But his story didn’t end with that victory—it was only the beginning of a remarkable artistic journey that’s taken him from local clubs to global stages\, and from the recording studio to the silver screen. Eager to define his own identity as a songwriter after American Idol\, Lee released Frames\, a heartfelt debut that set the tone for the deeply personal\, emotionally charged music that followed. His sound—a seamless blend of folk\, indie\, and Americana with pop sensibility—has earned him a devoted fan base and critical praise alike. One of Lee’s songs made its debut in AMC’s The Walking Dead\, sparking a new chapter in his career as his music found a home in television and film. Since then\, his songs have appeared in over 100 shows\, movies\, trailers\, and commercials\, solidifying his reputation as a darling of the licensing and sync world. With multiple albums under his belt—including Oil & Water\, Paranoia\, Ghost Stories\, and his 2024 release Gone For Days—Lee continues to evolve as both a performer and a writer. His work has been praised for its emotional honesty\, cinematic atmosphere\, and ability to connect through storytelling that has that magic of feeling both intimate and universal. Now based in Tennessee\, Lee is entering a new creative chapter\, crafting music that speaks to growth\, change\, and the beauty of human experience. Whether performing solo or collaborating with others\, he captivates audiences with his raw voice\, poetic lyrics\, and the authenticity that has defined his career from the very start. SUMMARY:Beppe Gambetta
DESCRIPTION:American Roots Folk Singer Songwriter \n\n \n Share:\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	Italian Guitar Master • Cross-Atlantic Roots Innovator Internationally celebrated guitarist\, singer\, and composer Beppe Gambetta brings his soulful blend of American roots and European folk traditions to Caffè Lena. Known for his dazzling flatpicking\, lyrical melodies\, and engaging storytelling\, Gambetta has spent nearly 50 years building musical bridges across continents. Beppe has been called a "virtual United Nations of influences: Italian\, Ukrainian\, Appalachian\, Sardinian\, Celtic." —Acoustic Guitar Born in Genova\, Italy\, Beppe first captured the attention of U.S. audiences in the 1980s through collaborations with major acoustic innovators such as Norman Blake\, Charles Sawtelle\, Mike Marshall\, David Grier\, and banjo great Tony Trischka. His long-running partnership with guitar legend Dan Crary cemented his place on the world stage and introduced him to festival audiences across America. Gambetta’s artistry goes far beyond technical mastery. He is a musical researcher and cultural ambassador\, reviving historic Italian string traditions—including the music of harp-guitarist Pasquale Taraffo—and weaving them seamlessly into the language of American folk and bluegrass. His recordings explore themes of heritage\, migration\, and the shared musical roots that connect us across borders. His newest album\, Terra Madre (2024)\, showcases this vision with an all-star cast including David Grisman\, Dan Crary\, Tim O’Brien\, Howard Levy\, and Travis Book. The project blends heartfelt originals with global influences\, celebrating both the motherlands we come from and the musical landscapes we carry forward. Onstage\, Beppe is warm\, humorous\, and profoundly musical—inviting listeners into a world where tradition and innovation dance together. SAMPLE SONG He has been described by The Huffington Post as one of the "best flatpickers anywhere." The daughter of Grammy-winner Loudon Wainwright III and beloved Roche sister Suzzy Roche\, Lucy grew up surrounded by harmony\, humor\, and the fierce honesty that defines her family’s music. Yet her path was far from predetermined. Before stepping into the songwriter’s life\, Lucy earned degrees in creative writing and education\, and taught elementary school in North Carolina and New York. In 2007\, she made the leap into music full-time—and folk audiences have been grateful ever since. With a crystal-clear voice\, disarming wit\, and an understated storytelling style that cuts straight to the heart\, Lucy has become one of the most compelling singer-songwriters of her generation. Her songs have appeared on television and film\, won the Independent Music Award for Best Folk/Singer-Songwriter Song\, and earned her recognition as an Emerging Artist at both Falcon Ridge Folk Festival and Kerrville Folk Festival. Lucy has toured with—and been championed by—some of folk and Americana’s finest\, including the Indigo Girls\, Dar Williams\, Girlyman\, Amos Lee\, Neko Case\, Loudon Wainwright\, Rufus Wainwright\, and more. Whether performing solo or alongside her mother Suzzy or her extended Wainwright–McGarrigle musical family\, her performances are intimate\, warm\, funny\, and deeply human. At Caffè Lena\, Lucy brings a career-spanning set of songs filled with vulnerability\, sharp insight\, and the wry humor the Wainwrights are known for. Expect an evening of luminous vocals\, gorgeous acoustic arrangements\, and storytelling that feels like sitting with an old friend who sees the world clearly—and sings about it beautifully. SUMMARY:Heather Maloney with opener High Tea
DESCRIPTION:American Roots Folk Singer Songwriter \n\n \n Share:\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	Massachusetts-based “writer song-singer” Heather Maloney creates music shaped by deep introspection\, spiritual curiosity\, and an unwavering devotion to storytelling. Before she was a touring musician\, Maloney spent three years living and studying at a meditation center\, days steeped in silence and the teachings of poets and seekers. That stillness shaped her artistic voice—one that combines the emotional depth of Joni Mitchell with the inward-looking precision of Rilke and the narrative resonance of Zen parables. Today\, with over 1\,000 performances across the U.S. and Europe and eight studio albums to her name\, Maloney stands on the edge of releasing her most personal record to date. Written in the wake of her father’s death\, Exploding Star began as a private act of grief—songs Heather never planned to record. But the people who knew her best heard something extraordinary in them. So she stepped back into her abandoned childhood home and tracked the first two days of the record there\, playing her father’s guitar and capturing the sounds\, memories\, and ghosts that shaped her earliest years. What emerged is a collection of 12 songs that are both celebratory and devastating\, moving through emotional landscapes that range from lush to spare\, urgent to quietly trembling. Produced by Don Mitchell of Darlingside\, with arrangements by High Tea’s Isabella DeHerdt and Isaac Eliot\, the album is a sweeping\, intimate journey—woven with bold lyricism\, surprising lightness\, and Maloney’s fearless willingness to look grief directly in the face. Her past work has drawn major acclaim: PopMatters praised her “radical ability to channel emotion” on Soil in the Sky Her duet with Taylor Goldsmith (Dawes) and a feature by Rachael Price (Lake Street Dive) showcase her wide-reaching musical community Folk legend Jay Ungar appears on “Oklahoma Lullaby” The Bluegrass Situation called Making Me Break “an intoxicating blend” of indie rock\, folk humanity\, and Rumi-like spirituality Her collaboration with Darlingside on Woodstock earned praise from The New York Times and Graham Nash. Her songs have been featured on NPR\, eTown\, AudioTree\, and in the CBS series Elementary\, and she has toured with Lake Street Dive\, Gary Clark Jr.\, Mary Chapin Carpenter\, Dar Williams\, Colin Hay\, Shakey Graves\, and many more. In addition to her music\, Maloney is also a gifted illustrator and linocut artist\, carving visual interpretations of her songs that mirror the emotional landscapes of her work. SAMPLE SONG Heather Maloney’s music doesn’t just tell a story—it invites you inside it. This is a night of truth\, tenderness\, and transcendent songwriting you won’t want to miss. Opening for and playing with Heather\, is High Tea\, the folk-punk duo hailing from Massachusetts. High Tea is the explosive creation of a story-spinning blues guitarist and a harmony-obsessed punk. Isabella DeHerdt and Isaac Eliot have come together to fill spaces with homegrown storytelling and raucous\, booming vocals. Their songs are ripe with existential angst\, weaving tales of growing up\, going wild\, and always coming back to the ones you love. Stream this show live at Caffè Lena TV. SUMMARY:Mary Fahl - Formerly of October Project
DESCRIPTION:American Roots Folk Singer Songwriter \n\n \n Share:\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	With “a voice for the gods that can transport listeners to other realms” (Boston Globe)\, Mary Fahl is an expressive\, emotional singer/songwriter who first achieved fame as lead singer and co-founder of the mid-1990s NYC- based chamber-pop group October Project\, a band known for their lush harmonies\, sweeping melodies and Fahl’s unique and powerful vocals. After two records on Epic\, the band disbanded\, but Fahl had more freedom to pursue her own muse\, whether that meant writing and recording songs for movies (including the theme for the Civil War epic Gods and Generals)\, singing arias and medieval Spanish songs for Sony Classical or releasing a unique album-length take on Dark Side of the Moon… Fahl’s earthy\, viscerally powerful contralto bridges the generational gap between Fairport Convention’s Sandy Denny and London Grammar’s Hannah Reid. She makes music that feels timeless\, esoteric and ecumenical. Her elegant\, cinematic songs have a hauntingly gothic romanticism that inspired renowned writer Anne Rice to portray Mary’s voice emanating from a dead woman’s room in her 2013 novel The Wolves of Midwinter… Over the past few years\, Fahl has been touring and recording on her own label\, Rimar Records\, and her recent releases have garnered awards including an Indie Acoustic Award for Best Live Album for Live at the Mauch Chunk Opera House (filmed for PBS) and a 2020 Independent Music Award for her recent holiday album\, Winter Songs and Carols. Her Blu-ray 5.1 surround DVD\, From the Dark Side of the Moon\, brilliantly mixed by Bob Clearmountain\, won the 2021 Immersive Album Audio Listener’s Choice award and was named “Immersive Album of the Year” by Life in Surround. Now she returns with “Can’t Get It Out of My Head.” In an effort to find some light and comfort during these challenging times\, singer/songwriter Fahl looks back to some of the essential music that has brought her sustenance and clarity by reinterpreting songs from her greatest inspirations … Pink Floyd\, George Harrison\, Moody Blues\, ELO\, The Rolling Stones\, Neil Young and others. For Mary\, this is a tribute to the music that defined her as an artist. NPR’s Mountain Stage compared his “eloquent\, soulful songwriting” to Bill Withers and James Taylor\, while Relix celebrated his “poetic Americana\,” and The Boston Herald raved that “he’s made a career of confident\, danceable positivity.” Montbleau’s freewheeling new album finds him exploring the full spectrum of his influences like never before\, touching on folk\, rock\, funk\, soul\, hip-hop\, and reggae\, all with a preternatural ease that belies the intensely focused craftsmanship behind it.
