SUMMARY:The Nields
DESCRIPTION:Folk Global Singer Songwriter \n\n \n Share:\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	The Nields have been lighting up the indie circuit since 1991\, originally traveling the continent as a five-piece band. Today\, sisters Nerissa and Katryna perform as a duo often compared to The Indigo Girls and The Roches. The Chicago Tribune reports\, “As the work of the Everly Brothers or the McGarrigle Sisters has amply demonstrated\, there are few sounds as sublime as close harmonies rendered by siblings. In the case of western Massachusetts folk rockers the Nields\, the siblings are sisters Nerissa and Katryna Nields\, and their inimitable vocal blend is a disarming mix of clean folk harmonies and clenched Generation-X angst.” The Nields have been lauded for their gorgeous\, lilting\, sibling harmonies\, their wise\, classic\, folk/pop songs\, their hilarious banter on stage\, and their generosity and warmth in performance and engagement with their fans. “A masterful mix of modern folk with an alternative edge” (Minneapolis Star Tribune)\, and The Austin Chronicle raves\, “If there’s one constant here\, it’s The Nields sisters beautifully sweet vocal harmonies that sound eerily like the Roches singing Lush in a really big room. It's infectious stuff.” SAMPLE SONG Stream this show live at Caffè Lena TV. Enjoy two weeks of access with your live stream ticket. \n \n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n \n Doors Open\n Doors Open: 7:30 pm	\n	\n	\n\n \n\n	\n \n	\n \n Price\n \n Member\n $27.11\n \n \n \n \n \n General\n $30.37\n \n \n \n \n \n Child or Student\n $15.18\n \n \n \n				 \n inclusive of fees\n \n \n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n \n \n Get Tickets \n \n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n \n \n Similar Events\n \n View All\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n	\n \n Caffè Lena\n	\n\n \n\n Bright Series: Olive Klug\n\n American Roots Folk Singer Songwriter\n \n \n \n \n event\n \n \n\n \n Apr 4 • 8 PM \n	\n	\n\n\n\n \n \n \n\n	\n \n Caffè Lena\n	\n\n \n\n Natalie Cressman & Ian Faquini\n\n Global Jazz\n \n \n \n \n event\n \n \n\n \n Apr 10 • 8 PM \n	\n	\n\n\n\n \n \n \n\n	\n \n Caffè Lena\n	\n\n \n\n Folk Heritage Series: Jay Ungar & Molly Mason\n\n American Roots Folk Singer Songwriter\n \n \n \n \n event\n \n \n\n \n Apr 11 • 8 PM

SUMMARY:Overit Home Grown Sessions: Cassandra Kubinski with opener Kelsey Dodd
DESCRIPTION:American Roots Folk Singer Songwriter \n\n \n Share:\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	Billboard-charting and Eddies Award-nominated singer/songwriter Cassandra Kubinski now calls Saratoga Springs home. This show finds her between the release of her sunshiney call to peace\, power and pleasure\, the single Find What Feels Good\, and upcoming cover of Joni Mitchell's Both Sides Now\, featuring the incredible FAB4 string quartet.  She has shared her piano-powered songs of transformation\, freedom and connection with audiences worldwide\, from living rooms in Sydney\, Boulder\, and Santa Monica\, to arenas like Barclays Center and Mets Stadium. Locally\, she’s opened for Ben Folds at New Years Eve at City Center\, plays house concerts\, and leads musical and artist education workshops from Wildwood School in Schenectady\, to the library in Saratoga.  You may have heard her songs on TV: Lifetime's "Dance Moms"\, ESPN's\, "First Take"\, ABC's "Splash"\, Bravo's "Real Housewives" and many more. Or maybe you've heard her voice on commercials for Midas\, Snickers\, Homegoods and dozens more.  Cassandra's songwriting inspiration\, Billy Joel\, calls her "transcendent… reminiscent of the singer/songwriters of the late 70s". She looks forward to bringing a transcendent musical experience to the Caffè stage. Cassandra Kubinski SAMPLE SONG Kelsey Dodd SAMPLE SONG Cassandra's thrilled to bring this multi generational music experience to the Caffè stage\, highlighting up and coming actor/singer /songwriter\, 17-year-old Kelsey Dodd\, whose holiday EP\, Forever Evergreen\, Cassandra helped produce with Jim Mastrianni and Joel Moss. That EP features four holiday classics and one original co-written with Cassandra\, and reached #1 on Upcoming100’s Emerging 300 chart for two weeks and has over 120\,000 streams.  Kelsey was also recently named Best Entertainer in the Capital Region by both Capital Region Living Magazine (2024\, 2025) and The Saratogian (2025). Known for her work on stage and in the studio\, Kelsey has starred in productions such as Mean Girls (Regina)\, The Addams Family (Morticia)\, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Narrator)\, appearing on both local and Off-Broadway stages. Kelsey is also a frequent national anthem singer for major events\, performing for the MLB\, NFL\, NCAA\, and more. This fall\, she heads to the Boston Conservatory at Berklee to study Musical Theater. JUST ADDED! Behind the Curtain of Creative Collaboration: An Open Conversation With The Artists Thursday August 14th prior to the show. 6:15 – 7:00 PM There is an additional fee to attend this very special event. $25 for adults and $15 for Students or Children. All options are on the "Get Tickets" tab on Eventbrite. If you are attending the Pre-Show Special Event\, please arrive by 6:00 PM Join Billboard-charting singer/songwriter Cassandra Kubinski and Capitol Region Living "Bestie" Award Winner Kelsey Dodd in an open discussion about their creative process\, collaborating to create Kelsey's first EP "Forever Evergreen"\, and the real deal behind life as singer/songwriters and theatre artists. They'll reveal what the creative and collab process looked like both in and out of the studio\, will premiere pieces of brand new songs (with the songwriting process behind them)\, and there will be some time for open Q&A (ever wanted to know what the preparation process is for a vocalist before a show? Or how they deal with nerves/stage fright/imposter syndrome?) This is your chance to ask anything\, and hear multiple perspectives on the creative and collaborative process before these two luminous artists perform their sets! Overit Home Grown Sessions is made possible by a generous gift from Overit – a full-service marketing and creative agency based in Upstate New York. Note: Caffe Lena does not permit ticket reselling above face value. Her captivating performances have been seen on stages with Tommy Emmanuel\, Tim Reynolds (Dave Matthews Band)\, Andy McKee\, Amy Ray (Indigo Girls)\, Melissa Etheridge\, Antigone Rising\, Kaki King\, Jake Shimabukoro and Christopher Cross to name a few. Featured on the Grammy Museum’s virtual program streaming from Los Angeles\, a 2x Finalist in the USA Songwriting Competition\, plus a variety of articles in Guitar Player Magazine\, Acoustic Guitar Magazine\, and the recent notability of “Best Acoustic Guitarists in the World Right Now” (Guitar World Magazine)\, Christie continues to awe crowds with the unique essence of her music. “Watching Christie Lenée perform her solo acoustic act is like seeing a firecracker execute a high-wire circus routine while doing flips and juggling flaming bowling pins.” (Guitar Player Magazine). The first line of the intro title track from 2022’s Coming Alive (“I’ve got a feeling deep inside”)\, tells you everything you need to know: Lenée’s latest album is a chronicle of joy and hope\, of self-confidence and empowerment\, of renewal and light. There will be a new texture added to this performance. Christie is featuring multi-instrumentalist Katie Marie on bass. Katie is also a producer and songwriter who has worked and performed with many artists including Lena favorites Ruthie Foster and Carolyn Wonderland. SUMMARY:Lena Go Round-Songwriters Showcase Hosted by Erin Harkes
DESCRIPTION:American Roots Folk Singer Songwriter \n\n \n Share:\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	For 65 years\, Caffè Lena has been a place where great artists get their start—a stage where music is more than just sound; it’s stories\, community\, and discovery. The Lena Go Round continues that tradition\, offering a monthly showcase of rising songwriting talent\, curated and hosted by powerhouse musician\, comedian\, entrepreneur\, and all around powerhouse\, Erin Harkes. What makes Lena Go Round special? It is a curated lineup of the best up-and-coming songwriters—handpicked to deliver unforgettable performancesIt is a true “in the round” experience—where songwriters take turns sharing their music and stories\, creating an intimate and inspiring atmosphereIt is a direct link to Caffè Lena’s legacy—this stage launched careers\, and Lena Go Round continues to nurture the next generation of folk\, Americana\, and indie artistsThe lineup changes every month\, but one thing is constant: you will always hear something fresh\, moving\, and unforgettable. Whether you're a lifelong folk fan or just love discovering the next big thing\, Lena Go Round is the place to be. August's line-up is Belle-Skinner\, Ryan Liddick\, Ben Zoleski\, and Erin! Belle-Skinner is a dark nostalgic singer-songwriter based in New York. With a hauntingly beautiful\, lilting soprano and innate sense of melody she crafts tales of songbirds\, sirens and desert nomads – nuanced and layered stories which bridge the gap between past and present. Though her influences cover a broad range of genres – from French chansons and Russian folk to contemporary alt-pop and rock – her voice often draws comparisons to the likes of Joni Mitchell\, Kate Bush\, Jeff Buckley\, Mary Hopkin\, and early St. Vincent. Ryan Leddick is a queer folk/rock artist whose music is rooted in a childhood listening to classic rock and the folk music of his native Adirondacks—as well as anything else he could get to work on his parents’ sound system. The result is a distinctive fusion of life experience\, diverse influences and a strong artistic vision. When you listen to his music\, you can hear all of that echo in his unique sound. Leddick\, who has shared the stage with Damien Rice\, Of Good Nature\, and Brian Dunne to name a few\, is also a formally trained vocalist and has toured the Northeast for the better part of a decade\, in both group and solo acts. He’s now based in Troy\, New York\, and continues to travel regionally to perform for crowds large and small.   Ben Zoleski is a multi-instrumental songwriter\, producer and music director. He has been writing songs for 20 years. Once told that a song of his was "exceptional songwriting" by Livingston Taylor\, Ben tries to create songs that will resonate with listeners and that they can find a bit of themselves in. He has toured the country and Asia as part of the music direction team for Andrew Lloyd Webber's "School of Rock: the Musical". Currently\, Ben also plays guitar with Margo Macero\, keys in the band HARK\, and is part of the acoustic duo Gianna + Ben. Other artists and groups Ben has played for include David J\, Bea Miller\, Moriah Formica\, Sirsy and The Refrigerators. Ben resides in Schenectady\, NY with his wife Courtney\, daughter Eleanor and cat Atticus. His debut album of original material is currently in the works.  Erin Harkes Come be part of a Capital District must-see event\, where the best of the best take the stage before the world catches on. For the August edition of the Captain Fun Lunchtime Listening Hour\, our playlist curator will be none other than Caffè Lena’s beloved Reese Fulmer! We haven’t heard Reese’s theme\, but knowing Reese – it will be great! The D.J. spinning those records will be the Rochmon himself – Chuck “Rochmon” Vosganian.  All are welcome to gather at Lena’s from Noon to 1 PM on the last Friday of each month to enjoy musical memories and new discoveries. The playlist is selected by a different community member each month from the Captain Fun Listening Library of vinyl records in Lena’s lobby. Bring a brown bag lunch. Coffee and tea are provided. The Captain Fun Listening Library occupying the north wall in the Caffè Lena lobby is comprised of 1\,516 vinyl albums and several hundred CDs selected from Al “Captain Fun” McKenney’s expertly curated collection. This treasure trove of folk\, blues and jazz was left us in 2015 and we share it through our monthly listening hour\, as Al wished.  Enjoy the memories these records bring back\, and dig deep into American roots music. \n \n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n \n Doors Open\n Doors Open: 7:30 pm	\n	\n	\n\n \n\n	\n \n	\n \n Price\n \n Member\n $27.11\n \n \n \n \n \n General\n $30.37\n \n \n \n \n \n Child or Student\n $15.18\n \n \n \n				 \n inclusive of fees\n \n \n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n \n \n Get Tickets \n \n Streaming\n \n \n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n \n \n Similar Events\n \n View All\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n	\n \n Caffè Lena\n	\n\n \n\n Little Folks: City Birds\n\n American Roots Family\n \n \n \n \n event\n \n \n\n \n Apr 4 • 3 PM \n	\n	\n\n\n\n \n \n \n\n	\n \n Caffè Lena\n	\n\n \n\n Bright Series: Olive Klug\n\n American Roots Folk Singer Songwriter\n \n \n \n \n event\n \n \n\n \n Apr 4 • 8 PM \n	\n	\n\n\n\n \n \n \n\n	\n \n Caffè Lena\n	\n\n \n\n Matt Griffin Album Release with opener Jimi Woodul\n\n American Roots Folk Singer Songwriter\n \n \n \n \n event\n \n \n\n \n Apr 12 • 7 PM
