Sara Caswell has been hailed as “a brilliant world-class violinist…one of the very best of the present generation of emerging young jazz stars” (David Baker). Known for her lyrical sensitivity\, technical mastery\, and emotional depth\, Caswell has collaborated with artists and ensembles including esperanza spalding\, Linda Oh\, Brad Mehldau\, Brian Blade\, John Patitucci\, and Bruce Springsteen. Her most recent release\, The Way to You (2023)\, showcases her singular artistry — a seamless blend of virtuosity and vulnerability that has earned her recognition in DownBeat Magazine’s Critics and Readers Polls every year since 2013. A seasoned performer and educator\, Caswell currently serves on the faculty at Berklee College of Music\, Manhattan School of Music\, The New School\, and NYU\, inspiring the next generation of improvisers. Her playing transcends genre — moving effortlessly from jazz to classical to experimental music — always with a voice that is unmistakably her own.
