Known for collaborating with artists who love to push boundaries\, he’s found a musical home in New York\, where ideas from all over the world come together\, and he thrives on the energy of that creative mix. Ross’s musical journey has taken him far and wide\, performing with an impressive roster of musicians including Matt Flinner\, Tony Furtado\, Grant Gordy\, Jacob Jolliff\, Ron Miles\, Mollie O’Brien\, The Motet\, and many more. Since 2019\, he has performed with the Jacob Jolliff Band\, adding his unique sound to Jacob’s latest release\, Instrumentals\, Vol. 2: Mandolin Mysteries. Ross also has a long-running duo project with fellow acoustic guitarist\, Grant Gordy. They have one duo album\,Year of the Dog (2016)\, and another currently in the works. For over 15 years\, he’s been an integral part of the Matt Flinner Trio\, alongside bassist Eric Thorin. The Trio is known for their “Music du Jour” project: every day on tour\, the band members each write a new tune and perform it that very night. After many tours\, they compiled their favorite songs into three albums released by Compass Records: Music du Jour (2009)\, Winter Harvest (2012)\, and Traveling Roots (2016). In addition to his collaborative work\, Ross has released two solo albums — Volley and Sylvan Tunnel — which showcase his original compositions and electric guitar playing. Guests like Darol Anger\, Matt Flinner\, Ron Miles\, and Greg Garrison contributed to those albums\, making them a unique blend of musical influences.  Music education plays an important role in Ross’s professional life.
