NYS Writers Institute Presents a Fiction & Poetry Reading
Other Poetry

Join us for a captivating evening of literature and conversation at Caffè Lena, featuring Vinson Cunningham and April Bernard, two celebrated voices in contemporary writing. Both authors are currently in residence at the New York State Summer Writers Institute at Skidmore College.

Vinson Cunningham is a staff writer and theatre critic for The New Yorker, a former White House aide, and a faculty member in the MFA Writing program at Sarah Lawrence College. His debut novel, Great Expectations, has been hailed by Colum McCann as “brilliantly written, piercingly smart, quietly subversive.”

April Bernard, a Professor of English and Creative Writing at Skidmore College, has just released her sixth poetry collection, The World Behind the World (W.W. Norton). Her work spans poetry, fiction, and critical essays, with frequent contributions to The New York Review of Books and other major journals.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from two dynamic literary voices shaping the future of American letters.
