Greetings – First, a big thanks to all of you who made a donation on Giving Tuesday–to Caffe Lena or to any other good cause you support. Our communities would be very different without nonprofits, and nonprofits would be very different without YOU. If you missed Giving Tuesday–no worries! There’s still time to help us pay our musicians and keep our shows, classes and community outreach accessible to all. Thank you.

You don’t need to travel to NYC to see great jazz! Grammy-nominated saxophonist Jimmy Greene, praised as “one of the most striking young tenors of recent years” by Jazzwise Magazine, will join our resident jazz master, pianist Chuck Lamb (Brubeck Brothers Quartet), along with drums and bass. Greene has performed and recorded with Horace Silver, Harry Connick Jr., and Ron Carter, to name a few. Some of Greene’s most moving pieces are dedicated to his daughter, Ana, who died in the Sandy Hook school shooting. He received a Grammy nomination for this work.
Dubbed by Rolling Stone as “a genre unto herself,” Brooklyn-based Kaki King has proven to be just that. She has shared stages with Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters, contributed music to award-winning films (Sean Penn’s Into The Wild), and performed across North America and Europe. Her explorations in multimedia have led to the creation of groundbreaking work such as The Neck Is A Bridge To The Body, Modern Yesterdays, and her new show for audiences of all ages, BUGS.
This Billboard chart-topping Chicago roots-rock quartet brings joyful energy to seasonal classics like “Silent Night” and “Run Run Rudolph,” and their fun, original songs like “Party at the North Pole” and “Snow Day” are a welcome change from the season’s familiar standards. The “Polished yet rootsy Chicago outfit” (Rolling Stone) offers spotless instrumentation and effortless, upbeat vocal harmonies.
