Greetings – Three years ago we decided it was time to develop a signature annual event to celebrate this community-driven venue, welcome newcomers, and thank everyone for making Caffe Lena an anchor of folk culture. Sing In the Streets was born! Each year it gets a little bigger, thanks to the sponsors who cover costs and put some extra money in our coffers for year round operations. If the sun is shining, you’ll find our six stages outdoors. If it’s raining, we’ll be at the Library, Misfits, upstairs at Caffe Lena, and upstairs at Walt & Whitman’s. But, it won’t rain.

The rest of our week leading up the festival is superb. Sara Caswell, Chuck Lamb’s featured guest this Tuesday, is a true artist of jazz violin. Grammy-nominated and celebrated for her lyrical style, she has been an oft-requested guest and we’re so pleased she accepted Chuck’s invitation. Liam Robinson & Jean Rohe are squeezing in a short tour around Liam’s work as Music Director for Hadestown. Like that smash Broadway hit, the duo’s music addresses contemporary issues with profound artistry. So does Ana Egge (Friday), and we can’t wait to have her back on stage. Then comes Lil’ Ed! What a rompin’ good time to put us in the mood for Sunday’s festival!

See you at the show,
Sarah
