Greetings – This week we offer you the best of the season: opportunities to slow down and relax, fun times with friends, and a chance to be awed. Give yourself a breather by coming to a show this week, staying put for a couple hours, and soaking up the goodwill and beautiful sounds.

I also invite you to go beyond buying that ticket. Caffe Lena is a place to find new friends by volunteering, or a new hobby by joining a group music class. You can keep your own creative practice on track by coming to open mics. You can spend quality time with the children in your life by bringing them to Folk Club Kids. You can also keep all of these programs affordable and plentiful by donating to our Annual Fund Drive. Your generosity helps create a very special venue enjoyed by tens of thousands of people every year. Thank you.

Here’s a wonderful chance to unwind in this busy season. Guitar Player Magazine listed Italian fingerstyle guitarist Peppino D’Agostino as one of “50 transcendent superheroes of the acoustic guitar,” and he received their Bronze People’s Choice Award for Best Acoustic Album of All Time. He’ll play originals selected from his 19 albums, as well as well-known classical, pop, and traditional music from aroundt the world. Known for his charming, relaxed stagecraft, D’Agostino has shared the stage with Larry Carlton, Tommy Emmanuel, Leo Kottke and many more.

Stream this one from home! This Capital Region brother and sister have charted 4 radio singles in the Billboard AAA Top 40, taken two records to #1 on the Relix Jambands Chart, and appeared nationally on NBC’s Today Show. Their anthemic pop-rock and devotion to their fans makes every show into a celebration.

New York’s premier gypsy swing ensemble. Their repertoire reflects the spirit and style originated by Django Reinhardt prominent in the 1930’s and kept alive through a long line of gypsy jazz artists. The driving rhythms and dynamic soloing give their music a life and vibrancy that burns away the winter chill.

How do they do it?! This international a cappella group offers flawless harmonies, a genre-spanning repertoire & masterful jazz vocal arrangements. Inspired by the wizardly jazz harmonies of Take 6 and The Hi-Lo’s, the six singers of Accent take close-harmony jazz singing as far as it can go. The Manhattan Transfer’s Alan Paul said, “You guys carry on the vocal group legacy.” The members hail from France, Sweden, Canada, England and USA.
