Greetings – Yesterday’s Sing In the Streets was blessed by great weather and the crowd was at least double last year’s. What a feeling to see Phila Street filled up with live music, smiling faces, too many ice cream cones to count, tie-dyed t-shirts, strollers and happy hugs. This was all made possible by business sponsors, volunteers, generous musicians, a hard-working staff and YOU. Plan to come for Sing In the Streets #3 on May 19, 2024!

We have a short, sweet week of music ahead of us followed by a couple days off to celebrate Memorial Day with friends and family. A tradition for many in this area is the wonderful GottaGetGon Folk Festival at the Saratoga County Fairgrounds taking place May 26 to 29. It’s kid-friendly, adult-friendly, and if you play an instrument be sure to bring it with you. There are headline concerts and workshops all days, and jam circles into the wee hours of the morning.

See you at the show,
Sarah

Grammy-winning folk musician Dom Flemons reflects the Black experience in rootsy, banjo-based songs. In addition to his Grammy, his work has been recognized with two Emmy nominations, a USA Fellowship Award, and inclusion in the Country Music Hall of Fame. His new album is original Black country music that reflects our culture, environment, and values while still sounding rooted in tradition.

The Capital Region’s own dream-pop rock ’n roll craftsmen. They combine classic and modern sounds that owe as much to the roots/Americana flavor of The Band and Wilco as to the cosmic sounds of Pink Floyd and Radiohead. Throw in a jazz vibe, straightforward songwriting and a touch of whimsy, and you have an experience that is uniquely The Eastern Highs.

Journey into Americana one trippy tune at a time with Woodstock-tinged psychedelia, southern rock, roots, folk & blues. Voted “Best Band of 2022” by Chronogram Magazine, charismatic frontman Joziah presides center-ring with vocals that are as soothing and bewitching as a snake oil tonic, joined by bandmates Tink (accordion, cello, mandolin, flute) and guitar-slinger Sharkey McEwen.
