Traditional Black storytelling, banjo, guitar, and a night of backporch blues,
coming to Lena’s this Friday thanks to Guy Davis.

Greetings – The weather made this past weekend challenging. As the bad forecast slowed ticket sales to a trickle days ahead, we worried that our Friday night show might have two audience members in the house. Not good, as you always want more people in the seats than on the stage. But then we remembered those 13 months of the pandemic shutdown when we had no in-person audience at all. Instead of feeling embarassed, we felt unstoppable!

On nights like that, streaming is a great option. For the month of March we’re running a Caffe Lena TV Subscription Drive. I really hope you’ll consider signing up. Here are just three reasons:
1) It’s a low-stakes way to explore new music. Our subscribers say that Caffe Lena TV has led them to many wonderful new discoveries.
2) It puts more money in the pockets of musicians without having to raise in-person ticket prices.
3) Once we sign up 750 subscribers, the platform will not only benefit viewers and performers, it will serve as an endowment for Caffe Lena, underwriting programs that don’t bring in revenue, such as Little Folks Shows, Caffe Lena On the Road, and the Matt McCabe Scholarship Fund.

Many of us give a little something each month to nonprofits. Your Caffe Lena TV subscription will support the work of this nonprofit, and give you access to hours and hours of wonderful shows every month. Thanks for your support.

See you at the show,

-Sarah

MEMBERS’ CORNER

HOMEGROWN launches on Sunday, which gives the best of our open mic artists a chance to prove themselves. We hope that this new performance opportunity will inspire these emerging artists to work hard at their craft, knowing that there’s a spot on the weekend stage available to them. Your membership donations enable an open mic that welcomes all ages and is alcohol-free. Countless musicians have gotten their start at Lena’s open mic. Thanks for helping us grow new songwriters!

Caffe Lena has nearly 1,000 active members. These folks are planting songs and growing community with their annual donations. They also get the best seats in the house, early access to special shows and some neat swag. Learn More
