Greetings – It really is mysterious that music changes our mood, our motivation, our sense of optimism or tenderness. Why does that happen? Why do melody and timbre make us suddenly decide to forgive someone, or notice the scenery, or pick up the pace on a morning run? Don’t forget that the magic of music is always available to you when you need it.

Live music is the most powerful medicine of all. We have lots for you!

We’re excited to hear some phenomenal jazz this week from artists who play with Taylor Swift (Chad LB) and Sting (Fareed Haque). We’re welcoming back Don Armstrong for the Folk Heritage Series, and newcomers Never Come Down for the Bright Series. You’ll feel a bounce in your step on the way out at the end of the night. Because that’s just what music does.

See you at the show,
Sarah

PLAYLIST OF UPCOMING SHOWS:
SEPTEMBER I OCTOBER NOVEMBER
MEMBERS’ CORNER
We’re hoping one of you crafty types might be able to help with a project. We need a protective cover for the video screen that hides behind our stage curtain.  The screen is 66 1/4″ x 38″. The cover needs to be easy to remove mid-show. It needs to protect the screen from getting cracked by a bass or other large instrument. We will cover the cost of materials, but we’re hoping for a volunteer to take on the design and manufacture. Write to sarah@caffelena.org. Thank you!

And, don’t forget, it’s Sept-Member! No matter what your membership level, your whole party will get your membership discount on tickets, and we’ll deliver a plate of chocolate chip cookies to your table. We’re grateful to you for keeping Caffe Lena growing, creative and strong.

Caffe Lena has nearly 1,000 active members. These folks are planting songs and growing community with their annual donations. They also get the best seats in the house, early access to special shows and some neat swag. Learn More
