Greetings – This week we’re bringing you music that thrives outside of fads and commerce. It doesn’t need record labels or marketing campaigns. Honestly, it doesn’t even really need a sound system. It could be sung in a room filled with willing hearts anywhere, even with storms and battles raging outside. I can promise you that this week’s shows–from Folk Club Kids to Storytelling Night, from the old-time fare of Nic & Allison to the classical richness of KASA Quartet–are very good for your health. I hope you’ll come spend some time in this wonderful old room enjoying music.

I would also encourage you to check out the next round of online adult fiddle and dance classes that are about to get underway. The instruction is warm, fun and effective. And if you can’t stand the thought of being seen on screen, you can buy a package of recorded lessons and take it at your own pace. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out Vivian Nesbitt (musicschool@caffelena.org).

See you at the show,
Sarah

Two-time Boston Music Award winner Honeysuckle marries traditional folk instrumentation with modern effects. NPR Music wrote, “Their sound is unpretentious and unabashed, as if each song is meant for one set of ears only. They don’t shy away from moments that are as technical as they are mesmerizing, and here their musicianship really shines through.”

MEMBERS’ CORNER
It became evident that we needed to buy a kid-sized acoustic bass for the School of Music. Vivian came up with the idea of holding Lena’s first Pancake Breakfast & Bluegrass Jam. You turned out on Saturday morning and provided the money needed. The bass has been ordered! Thanks for giving tools to the next generation so they can give us the music we all need.
