Greetings – Streaming is here to stay. It has become an essential tool in keeping artists and venues afloat and audiences engaged. Our goal is to make it a great experience for you, and economically viable for us and our artists. Hence, CaffeLena.TV, our new livestreaming platform and concert vault.

This feels like the right moment to move our streams off the free platforms. If streaming is going to be a core part of the performing arts, we can’t treat it like a give-away without causing lasting damage to the viability of music as a profession. As we’ve told our performers that their show will be included in the new platform, the universal reaction has been “Thank You. Thank for going in this direction. It really helps.”

Caffe Lena is blessed to have an audience of genuine music lovers who understand that live music will only survive if people support it. Individual live shows will cost $5 (and you can add a tip if you like), and unlimited viewing of live and archived shows is available via a monthly donation of $15 or more.

Thank you for sticking with the team as we work to make live music thrive in a changing world.

See you at the show (in-person or online!),
-Sarah

JAZZ at CAFFE LENA
Chuck Lamb Trio with Special Guest Lucas Pino
In-Person Tickets
Watch on Caffe Lena TV
Our resident Jazz Master Chuck Lamb has selected saxophonist Lucas Pino for this month’s special guest. Pino will be working with Lamb on piano, Harvey Sorgen on drums, and Jay Anderson on bass. As one of NYC’s top sax players, Pino is an exciting choice. Pino won the Downbeat award for Best Instrumental Soloist when he was still in high school. He went on to study at the Brubeck Institute, The New School and Juilliard. He fronts No Net Nonet, his NYC ensemble that plays weekly at Smalls. Pino’s tone, groove and simplicity get high marks from jazz critics, peers and audiences. Should be a great night!

Bright Series: Alisa Amador
In-person tickets
Watch on Caffe Lena TV

The Bright Series features emerging musicians who are making waves in the national music scene, getting buzz from reviewers, climbing the radio charts, and starting to pack houses in the cities. Always, it’s the performer’s first show in our area and Caffe Lena fans can say, “I heard her when she was just getting started.” This month’s pick, Alisa Amador, had a headstart as the daughter of professional, bilingual global musicians. She began singing on stage in Spanish and English at age five and went on to study classical guitar. In the last few years she has emerged as a singer-songwriter with a soft, folk-jazz aesthetic and pure voice that makes folk music fans swoon. Please find a moment stillness to listen to the song linked to her photo. There’s a lot of wisdom in this young soul.

This is the kind of show that makes people fall in love with folk music: songs that go straight to the heart, wonderful harmony singing, lots of laughs and sighs, and the rich accompaniment of a fine band. Individually, Sloan and Cosy are familiar to many. Having them on stage together doubles the fun. 🙂  This will be a really special night.
