James Francies Trio Watch from home
Francies is one of the new keyboard greats. Alongside his meteoric rise in jazz, he has accrued impressive credentials in R&B and hip-hop, having played with Lauryn Hill, Chance the Rapper, Childish Gambino, Kodak Black and the list goes on. He released his first Blue Note album at age 24, and now two years later he’s here to celebrate his sophomore release, Purest Form. Tonight Francies will be joined by his former Jazz Institute students Jeremy Dutton (drums) & Burniss Travis (bass). Stewart’s Signature Series
Jordan Rudess / TWO NIGHTS / SOLD OUT Watch from home (Friday) Watch from home (Saturday)
Prog rock occupies a different corner of the music world than rootsy Caffe Lena, but we are utterly enchanted by the music of one of prog rock’s greats, Jordan Rudess. Best known as keyboardist for Grammy-nominated Dream Theater, Rudess is nearly a cult figure among keyboard players. Classically trained at Julliard, his solo compositions are melodic, exciting, beautiful and presented with tremendous personal warmth.
Saturday, July 3 – 3 PM / FREE In-person Registration OR Watch from home
Treat the kids to an hour of sweet, friendly folk music with Klaus and Lisa Meissner of Saranac Lake. With their gentle, sing-along songs, the Meissners turn an audience into a roomful of friends. Register in advance to get a pod for your family!
Do you remember your first live concert? Do you remember how rich the instruments sounded, and the feeling that something really important was happening? This Saturday afternoon, you can bet there will be at least a couple children in the audience having that moment. They’ll be listening to Rustic Riders, singing along and clapping with the crowd. With your membership support, you’re creating a new generation of music fans–and maybe even some music makers who will light up our stages decades from now. Thank you.
