February’s Poetry Open Mic will feature Carol H. Jewell and Allison Paster-Torres. Jewell is a poet, teacher, musician, librarian, wife, mother, and grandmother. She has an AB in Russian Language and Literature and holds Masters degrees in English and Library Science, and recently completed an MFA in Creative Writing from the College of Saint Rose.
Allison Paster-Torres was “raised by a pack of wild libraries.” She holds an MFA in creative writing and has appeared recently in Memoryhouse Magazine, Rat’s Ass Review, and Glass Journal.
- Poetry Open Mic takes place on the first Wednesday of the month. Admission is $5 for adults and FREE for students.
- Sign-up from 7 to 7:25 PM. Readings start at 7:30 PM
- Read two short poems (less than one page) or one longer poem, with a limit of 5 minutes altogether.
- A featured poet reads for 20 minutes. Featured poets are booked by host Carol Graser. Generally, our features are established, published poets and/or have made significant public contributions to the regional poetry scene.
